Building Pathways, Powering Futures

Our programs prepare Black girls ages 10–19 to explore, lead, and innovate in the green economy. From hands-on STEM labs to leadership fellowships, business incubation, mentorship, and youth-led publishing, the Jua Centre equips girls with the knowledge, skills, and networks to turn the Discovery Decade into a launchpad for their Defining Decade. Green Skills Academy

Grounded in Afro-feminist principles and youth leadership, the Green Skills Academy offers two distinct 16-week pathways: STEM and Non-STEM. Both are designed as safe, creative learning spaces where girls build real-world sustainability skills, develop a professional portfolio, and earn certification. Each pathway blends workshops, projects, and case studies rooted in climate justice and community action.

Non-STEM Pathway

Training in policy analysis, advocacy, project management, and campaign design. Girls learn to write policy briefs, lead community projects, and drive systemic change.
(SDG 4 & 10)

STEM Pathway

Hands-on labs in renewable energy, biodiversity mapping, agro-waste textiles, and sustainable design. Girls gain technical green skills while building confidence in STEM careers.
(SDG 9 & 13)
