Girls, especially Black girls, are nearly invisible in the green economy. Yet, Black women and girls experience the brunt of climate injustice (UN Women, 2023, p.11).
The Jua Centre is a non-profit dedicated to education, networking, and ideation. We build bridges for Black girls in their Discovery Decade (ages 10–19) — a formative time for exploring skills, identity, and leadership. Our programs and services prepare them for the Defining Decade (20s) when career and life paths take shape.
What We Do
Through our core pillars, we equip girls to lead in sustainability—building skills, enterprises, knowledge, and advocacy for a greener future.

Green Leadership Fellowship
The GreenHer Fellowship is an 12-week leadership training with expert designed modules, guest speakers, simulations and hands-on experiential learning.

Green Business Incubation Program
The Greentrenreneur Program is designed to take your venture from ideation to actuality.

STEM Skill-Building
Extracurricular Science, Technology & Engineering education with an ecological lens. Programs are designed for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

Publication
The Kujua Journal is a youth-led zine & research platform (STEM + policy + creative)

Youth Policy & Innovation Council
Youth governance body & advocacy hub dedicated to highlighting issues regarding BlacK Girls Sustainability Educations (policy briefs, campaigns)

By 2030, the global shift to a greener economy will create 24 million new jobs worldwide (ILO, 2018).
Without intentional pathways, Black girls risk being excluded from these opportunities.
